JDM Rear coming from KIA N.A.?

So I just received my new JDM rear from Lancershop.com and to my surprise it came from KIA Motors America Parts Distribution Center out of Riverside CA..

Does anyone know why? I didn't realize that Mitsubishi had anything to do with KIA? Or maybe they just have an agreement to use the distribution center? I'm not sure, but I am curious!

Any guesses?

It's 100% authentic Mitsubishi. Which is why I couldn't believe I saw a K.M.N.A. sticker on the box.

The only thing I can think of, is that maybe Mitsubishi is using their distribution center for parts or when the Lancershop was wrapping the bumper up, they cut up a box that was actually from KIA and wrapped it up. But it didn't look like the later.

Huyndai/Kai sourced a lot of parts directly from Mitsu.

lancershop doesn't actually have their parts in stock in a warehouse, all of their parts come from different locations

Kia dealerships handle all Mitsubishi factory oem parts. Where I live I go to Crown Kia for all my Mitsubishi oem parts.

Kia and Hyundai have been involved with Mitsubishi for a long time which is why you can find 2.4l blocks for the evo in Hyundai Sonota's. The evo also shares the evo 8 cylinder head casting with a select few Kia and Hyundai vehicles

Lancershop is having a sale on them. They're $580 + shipping. I picked up the Bumper, Tow Hook Cover, OEM SE Lip and a OEM Front Diamond for like $1200 shipped if I remember right?

Mitsubishi doesn't paint their JDM rears anymore but if your have a WW IX you're in luck on the SE Lip, they come painted WW.

Is that still true for the SE lip? I may have to pick one up.
