Problems with gas and trunk lever

Hi! I have a problem with the lever for the gas door and trunk door on my Lancer Evolution 2005. A few months back they got really stiff, and the seem to stick together so that if I pull the trunk lever, the gas lever moves with it. I tried to spray 5-56 on the levers but no luck. It seems independent on outside temperature (happens even if I have the car indoors.)

How would I go about investigating this? Are the wires to the trunk and gas doors accessible, and from where? Is this a known problem?
