URGENT: Possibly buying evo questions
Hi guys... Currently I'm debating on whether or not to pick up this EVO. it's a 2006 IX with 25,800 original miles. One owner, never modified, no accidents has 10 yr 100k mile warranty until April of next year. Car is in very good condition...has one curb rash-esque scratch that's about 1 inch near the drivers side wheel well and a faint scratch on the roof. Don't want to post pictures in fear of someone finding and buying... Blue book value is like 21k....obviously 23k mile IX's aren't common by any means...what would you say is a fair price?

anywhere from 28-35k depends where you live of course and how clean the car is, based On that mileage. yuh book value don't mean much. I doubt the blue book will tell you how many are left, which is a handful and decreasing. whatever someone is willing to pay is what its worth.

ya just like what he ^^^ said. theres plenty of cars like our evo's that get listed as stock and "never modified" but the only way to know is having a mitsubishi dealer check it over or any mechanic that is familiar with evo's and the tell tale signs of a modded car that has been returned to stock. assuming you have the car checked out by someone or some company thats competent then you should be fine for the $27k price. an evo 8/9 with that low of miles is not very common anymore. good luck with the deal.

If you're going to buy it to mod the cr@p out of it, look for a more reasonably-priced one with more miles on it.
But you are going to pay top dollar for this one, keep the miles low, keep it original, take it out on only nice days (plenty of those in Az) and you will probably see your investment appreciate in time to come. Repair the scratch, use OEM paint, heck, use the Mitsubishi dealership and keep all the receipts.
Case in point: good, clean, low-miles original Supra twin turbo 6 speeds are much rarer than modded Supras and have held value better just on rarity alone.

Always PPI, especially if your gonna drop that kinda money.

I personally think if your going to modify it extensively you should looking into a less expensive one with higher mileage.. Otherwise if your just thinking of adding bolt-ons and enjoying the car for what it is, it's a decent deal. These cars are getting harder to come by..

With something as Niche and rare as the Ct9A evo in the US is, you have to expect the values to eventually start to climb over time. Also you are comparing prices from almost 10 years ago inflation is a *****...
