PCV valve replacement parts

Thinking about replacing my PCV valve because I'm at 70k and it's never been done. Are the grommet and gasket necessary?

If they aren't leaking then no point in replacing those as well. Unbolt the old valve, pop in a new one and call it a day.

WARNING!

I bought a replacement PCV valve at Advance Auto. I knew the valve is supposed to seal when there is pressure in the intake manifold. Otherwise the turbo is pressurizing the entire crankcase. Just to check I blew air through the replacement valve and air whistled through both ways. I'd suggest you either go OEM or do this check.

I had the same experience with Autozone pcv valves. My 30,000 mile old oem valve was in much better shape than a brand new leaky autozone valve.

OP, when replacing these, only go with oem.

Yeah, I'm still running my original at 110k. I'll inspect it again at timing belt time but it looked and worked perfect a couple of years ago.
