Yeah check all the timing marks, not just the one on the cams.

yes, it using a degree wheel on the crank in conjuction with a dial indicator telling you where full lift is at on the valve, while noting +/- 0.050" of full lift = actual full lift lift & where your cam is at. The reason to do either side of full lift, is so you can split the diffence & know exactly, because of the nose of the lobe is rounded & not a pointy tip.

However, in response to an earlier post about the evo notch being for evo 1-4, i have seen fidenza gears vary when layed on top of or beneath a oem evo 8 gear, while lining up the marks & cogg's of the gear, you can easily see if the dowel hole & center bolt hole is lined up. This is with the fidenza gear set to zero...

Exactly... when i overlayed a fidanza gear (using evo dowel) at TDC to a stock evo gear, the fidanza was 1/2 tooth off... BTW I am the same person as Freddie@Spec-Ops

Anyone else get a CEL with a 4g64 and MIVEC? I forgot the code right now, I can check it in a bit, I think it was a P0300. Shop says that's just how the timing is for this thing.

Car's fine, but can't smog it like that. Looks like mrfred has a thread on disabling that one.

That's a good point. Can someone with a Evo 9 2.4 chime in and let us know if they get a check engine light with the 2.4 or not? Thanks
