Car Inspection in NC without car being present?

Car Inspection in NC without car being present?
So I have my EVO IX registered and inspected in North Carolina, but the vehicle is back home in New Jersey. The registration has to be renewed in August so that means I have to get the car re-inspected. Now I can just register the car back in New Jersey but I wish to keep it registered in North Carolina because insurance is much cheaper here. Is there any way or you guys know anyone that would pass the inspection of the car without the car being there or if that is such a thing??? please help
