Cut the Evo's weight by 80 pounds - free!
While prepping my Evo for the Washington DC SCCA ProSolo this weekend, I weighed some of the stuff I took out of the car...
9.5 pounds - trunk trim
6.5 pounds - jack and spare tire tools
32.5 pounds - spare tire
3.0 pounds - trunk carpet
5.0 pounds - floor mats
9.5 pounds - rear seat bottom
14.5 pounds - rear seat back
Add it up... 80.5 pounds of weight gone.
I removed the three rear seat belt buckles, but not the belts, but forgot to weigh them -- probably not more than a pound or two at the most.
I also weighed a well-worn stock A046 tire on the stock wheel at 44 pounds (including mounting hardware - lug nuts). This compares to 42 pounds for my competition tire/wheel setup - an almost new Hoosier 245/40R17 A3S04 tire mounted on a 17x9 5Zigen FN01R-C wheel, plus centering ring and forged aluminum lug nuts.
I also have other weight savings from using the very lightweight 3" Buschur exhaust and the JIC FLT-A2 coilovers (which felt noticeably lighter than the stock struts and springs), and from running with only about 1/4 tank of gas.
I am guessing that my car in autoX trim weighs in at about 3070 pounds.

Front bumper beam is around 13lbs... not sure if there's rear one too but I would assume that can take some serious weight out too.
Small battery swap would save at least 10-15 pounds too

Front and rear bumper support removal is not legal in neither ESP or SM. So thats not an option for him. I basically have removed all the stuff you stated above, with two one piece seats which shaved about another 35-40 lbs, I left it as is when driving on the street =). Anyway good luck in DC pro solo. I'm suprised that not too many Evo run at the tour, only 2 I think and not doing that well. I will definitely drag my *** out there to be kick next year.

you could put holes in your bumpers to reduce weight. Loose weight on yourself. Take out the whole inside trims, especially the front dash.
Take the radio out, AC out, wear light shoes, take the headlights out, tailights out, the whole inside carpeting.
man, you'll go faster than god with all those taken out. lol

I hear that if you remove the driver, you could save up to 250 pounds from the car!

yeh, it was a joke.
Make your car go faster and don't take shlt out of your car, unless you want to make your car track only car.
Those recaroish backseats are nice.
Only thing I would agree upon is the spare tire and all the trunk liner and stuff. I've taken mine out and the *** goes around the corner with a lot more response.
