T-Case removal.

T-Case removal.
Im getting ready to send my t-case to Shep to have it rebuilt and was wondering what the best way to remove it was. I saw a couple threads that dealt with removing the tranny and t-case but was wondering what was the best/easiest way. Thanks.

ive taken both of mine out before and im going to take them out to send both to john. its pretty straight forward. dont know where the thread is but if you have a little mechanical skill behind you and a lift (oh thank god for a lift) you can take them both out pretty easily.now the key is remembering whee it all goes back but. like i said with a little mech skill u should be fine. oh if your doing one, u might aswell get both done, he keeps telling me that. so i plan on doing both at the same time.

is there anything wrong with the t-case? if not i wouldnt send it off until you can have him rebuild the tranny also. it is a pain in the butt to get the t-case out and since it makes it easier to remove the transmission first, i would get both done at the same time. i had him build both for me and im glad i am doing both at the same time. if you have any questions shoot me a pm my car is still tore down and i might be able to give you some advice

Theres nothing wrong with it but I have an '03 so it has an open front diff. right now. I was just going to do the t-case right now cause thats all I have the money for. Im just worried about breaking something with an open front and the power im at.

like every1 else said, the evomoto tech article, a lift, an evo shop manual (all 4 books), & being a grease monkey will help. i too have to not only pull the t-case to slap in a free Quaiffe (yes i said free!) into the LSD, but i also need to rebuild the trans & install a Carbonetic twin disc carbon clutch w/1350kg plate. i have the synchros here at home so i need to learn how to rebuild the trans (which most ppl are afraid of!!!) my shop amnual will b here by 01/04 so if u need any help thru that i may b of some consolation. just a thought...
my advice is: if you're gonna keep the car longer than 5 years, do it yourself. IF NOT, pay someone to do it...
& for those who want to know how i'm getting a free Quaiffe, it is from posts like this. help a fellow thru his troubles & he will most likely reward you. i helped a fellow guy in Thailand find an Overfinch motor for his Range Rover Sport (i have a Land Rover LR3), got him a disacount on shipping/installation from uk to thailand & he rewarded me with upto $600 EURO in free car parts!! since ordering direct from Quaiffe is cheaper than buying from a US shop i did just that. it is however stuck in customs which is ok cuz evo hasn't been drivable since last March so i'm just gathering all the tools i need b4 i do it...
