How TO: release throw out bearing

Well since it seems like alot of evo owners have problems with this i figured i would try to help a little.

All of this will be done through the inspection hole in the tranny, i just did it out of the car to you could see it alot better. Make sure you do this before you unbolt the bell housing

Take a flat head and stick it in between the TOB and wedge collar.

Use the clutch fork to move the TOB toward the pressure plate.

While the TOB is against the pressure plate turn the flat head, while the flat head is sideways push the clutch fork so it makes the TOB slide away from the pressure plate.

well, thats all there is to it. I hope i helped some of you that havnt done an evo clutch yet.

Yes sir, it sure is. But this really helps you know exactly what you want to do. Directions just don't really cut it without seeing it with pictures. Great thread. Thanks

Amen... I replaced the clutch as a jackstand warrior and this is a LOT harder through a little hole. This will help someone though or at least give them a good mental image of what has to be done if doing it from under the car.

VERY helpful also

is this also applicable for push type of pressure plate?

i understand that this kind of pressure plate is a "pull-type" one
