Want to black out my Evo 8 headlights

I have a 2005 Evo 8 with SSL with factory HID's and have been tossing around the idea of blacking out the headlights. My car is black so the chrome and orange inside the headlights just gives the car a tacky look. I have watched a lot of how to videos on putting the headlights in the oven to heat the glue so you can take them apart to paint. My main question is, is there a way to get rid of the orange part in the lens once you have the headlights apart? I have never done this with any other headlights and honestly I'm kind of scared to screw them up in the oven because these headlights cost quite a bit to replace. any info and help will be greatly appreciated thank you.

search is your friend here--there have been a number of how to's and evodave I think used to do it for a price.. as for the orange part of the headlight, I might be mistaken but I think by law it has to be orange or at least needs to blink orange.

I've tried searching and came up with nothing but I'm probably not looking in the right places or not doing something right. I'm not real computer savvy to say the least plus I have been having a hard time navigating through this site as it is trying to find things. I'm trying to get away from having to pay someone to do the headlights for me because so far I have been quoted 3 prices and all 3 have been over $400. It just seems a bit much to me to paint the inside of some headlights. I can put an orange bulp on the headlight to make it blink orange but ihave to get rid of the orange part in the lens, it just looks like crap and I can't stand it

Yes the orange reflector can be removed once the headlight is opened.

Its really easy to open the headlights. What I do is throw them in your oven at home at the lowest setting (typically around 200) for about 2-3 minutes. Then just take a flat head and pull the lense off the housing. Same goes for putting it back on.

Easy as pie.

Sometimes if the glue is practically new you dont even need a flathead. After the headlight is out of the oven just grab a corner and pull firmly but gently. If it gets tough try heating the glue with a heat gun along the edges to pull apart the lense.

I'm in the same boat. I wanna blackout my headlights, but I don't wanna mess up something trying to do it myself or pay over $400 just to paint my headlights ha ha.

Maybe I should start a service. Or possibly make a how to video for everyone.

I received an inbox message from someone on here that said they can do my headlights for $100 plus shipping. That seems pretty reasonable to me. I just need to find out for sure im not going to get scammed
