DIY brake rotor resurfacing?

I have slotted rotors and getting a bit of "wobble". Has anyone tried DIY resurfacing? I've checked a couple local shops and they don't do slotted rotors. I'm sure I can keep looking and find one but curious if anyone has attempted this themselves? I have seen a few tutorials but would like to know if anyone has any first hand experience with it.

Thanks.

shops won't do it because you can't have a machine toolbit strike a face like slotted or drilled rotors would do (leave contact and re-contact at speed)
