I know the trouble he went through because I went through it myself in the end.. I decided to take matters into my own hands, and have a created a lower costing Kit that will use much less work, especially with the HVAC Controls.
1. This kit was hand manufactured and will be molded so I can keep costs down since I'm manufacturing them myself.
2. This kit allows you to keep all the electronic controls intact such as the HVAC. Once great feature about doing things is that you will save $$$ on installation or conversion to the HVAC that EvoX is offering. AND best of all you get to keep the MAX A/C feature that is not offered on the EvoX Kit.
3. I also work with A Body/Paint specialist so I will be offering these kits in so far 2 colors, FlatBlack and / Silver. I guess we can do other colors but that's all I thought about for now.
4. The COST to produce these are going to be much lower. I don't know exactly how much so far but only 2 plastic parts are needed, the double din and the bottom HVAC Cubby conversion. All other electronics are OEM.
Here are pics below.
Please Note: My own project isn't finished yet, so the color matching is off. The bottom cubby is shiny black because it will make it easier to mold off of once it's done. Not to mention I need to get these painted so I didn't put it all quite together yet.
One thing to note, the above picture of the 2-DIN is actually a Evo 9 Din, and I modified it to now include the CLIPS ON THE BACK OF IT. So it simply snaps into place. I will need to mold this as well. Also The Screen on my personal PC project includes a screw that makes this screen removable in case it ever breaks. As posted as a link on the beggining pages of this thread my Project has always been a Car PC so if the screen is off it's because the PC in the glove box is not there yet.
Any questions.. PM or respond here.. Enjoy
One more thing I don't mean any disrespect To Spooling Evo, His kit is just as nice, he just took another direction. I personally would have atleast liked to order his 2-DIN from him instead of creating my own but now that I think of it, I like the texture on this double din as it's more OEM than the scaly one that he has.
I'd also like a list created for how many people would like my "Jedi 2-Din/Cubby Kit"
One Last Question- I have a Silver Evo do you think I should paint the already semi-silver dash pieces to match the Evo 9 2-Din including the Cubby or should I keep it Straight Black.. I'm having a hard time deciding. At the same time I don't want it to look too Ricey.

much respect for creating your own kit, but i don't appreciate you raining on my parade let alone downtalking certain things about my configuration.
i think evoM members can decide for themselves which kit they'd like to go with. this is america and friendly competition is welcome where i come from.

i just hope you're all happy with the kit i put together for us.
i sincerely think it looks 100% stock and will accomodate anything you have to throw into it.. from a 2-din headunit like mine to a beautiful arrangement of gauges.
i'll keep everyone posted!!

if you really want to make some $$ make a kit for automatic climate controll. You know where you put it on 72 and leave it. Where the fan level is auto and all that sweetness. I would buy that. Moving it down doesn't do much for me.

sorry, but with what i spent making this work on my EVO with manual A/C my pockets aren't deep enough to take a chance with the auto system and all of the intricate details necessary to make it work. just not worth it IMO.

Peace and like you mentioned earlier "Latinos really do think alike" good luck.
Sorry I jacked your thread, I've actually informed a few EvoM members to this thread as some of them want 2-DIN head units and not PC's.
