06 TB Evo - Painted Stock Wheels Time Attack Theme

I have seen many of you on here who painted your stock wheels either 8 or 9 the time attack theme and I couldn't see throwing 2k+ on new wheels just yet so I took the weekend and painted mine:

I wish I had taken more pics but didn't, so I'll add the video.

P.S. Yes I know I need to take the front bumper off since here in Florida we don't need it but those 3 screws are a PITA!! if anyone wants a front plate for free, come take it off my car and you can HAVE IT!

Enjoy and for those of you contemplating it, it makes a HUGE difference when you ride in the car with the wheels painted. Stock wheels are just bleh anymore

I also painted the rotors where the wheel mounts to up to a little over spray on the rotors themselves. Of course I covered teh calipers with newspaper and then once I drove away, the paint on the brake pad came off and now my rotors have no rust showing - just either a fresh clean surface or black paint.

P.S. Cleaning each wheel while off the car, wet sanding, priming, painting, masking, painting more and then clear coating took me almost 16 straight hours over the weekend.

PICS:

Painted wheels, my AMS FMIC mounted and a fresh wash:

My room mate and I plan on doing a photoshoot with the cars cleaned up.

the close looks like dust is under the paint and you can see the red line was not masked properly

16 Hours....ouch. I'm a picky ****, so I have to comment on the poor masking/painting of the red lip. I'd have just taken it to a professional, it cannot cost too much, and 16 hours of your time doing your normal job would easily cover it.

I did mine that style last summer. didnt take me 16hrs...but did take an entire day, the next day you are sore! hah. I just redid mine in gold/bronze. Its always nice to know that you can just redo your rims, the stocks are like my play rims for dress up! haha.
