Ralliart Mud Flaps Installed
Well, I got a set of the infamous Ralliart Mud Flaps for the Evo the other day. I got them from Dan at Mach V. They were ordered on Tuesday after 5:00 in the afternoon and I received them on Friday. Talk about fast shipment and delivery!
Anyway, on to the good stuff.
I know many of you will complain about a set of $400 mud flaps, but try to understand the logic here. It is insurance. These are not simply a dress up item. They protect the hell out of your paint. It has been discussed before, the Evo seems to have pretty soft paint. The wide tires also don't help matters much when it comes time for roosts being thrown up. The difference once these were installed is night and day. Before, I would hear every rock, twig, and chunk of road debris work it's way down the side of my car. After putting these on, all you hear are the rocks that still hit on the inside of the fender well. They also change the look of the car, too. It makes the rear end really squared off looking. I had the car all waxed up and polished so I could take pictures after I put them on, but plans changed. Once they were in place, I just wanted to go out and drive. These things are a must to have if you are worried about the paint on your car.
Dan, thanks for bringing this product to us when other vendors would not / could not.
I'll get the car cleaned up today and get some pictures for you guys.

I should add the I priced the sheet material used for these mud flaps and found a cost of ~$100 per sheet, where one sheet would make two flaps. Now maybe the place I found on the web was way over priced, but it appears that there is $200 in raw material.
The fact that they fitted right up without any real work was worth the balance. (I paid about $380 with shipping and other charges from Japan.)

Yeah and if you ask me, they make the car look 100% different. At least they do on Tarmac Black. I was impressed. All I could think of was the black Evo 6.5 TME that had them that I saw a while back. WOW. I am in love with something as trivial as urethane.

I hope these pictures help you all understand exactly what the mud flaps actually consist of. They have been great so far and they don't get all flimsy at highway speed as you might think. they stay relatively straight while driving and they definitely keep the dirt and rocks off the sides.
If you are interested, contact Dan at Mach V Motorsports and he can hook you up. Right now, he has them in simulated carbon fiber that says "Evolution" and the red "ralliart" ones that I got.
I ordered them on a Wednesday after 5:00 PM (they close at 5:30 PM and I got them 2 days later on Friday before Noon. Great stuff. Instalation took me about 45 minutes.

EDIT: They were ordered on Tuesday after 5:00 PM, not Wednesday. Either way, that's pretty quick delivery.
