How do i remove the MR shift knob?

How do i remove the MR shift knob?

Please dont give me 'Search, thread closed' For two days now ive been searching both the forums and online.

Nothing came back for:
mr shift knob
mr shift remove
mr shift removal
mr knob
mr shift

For god's sake how do I remove the shift knob? i'm turing the damn thing so hard I feel i'm going to break my transmission

Also it has a hex screw on top what does it do? thanks

its on there pretty tight just turn to the driver side hard

yup it's twist off.. it's on there really tight... i used a clamp wrench with a cloth over so it doesn't damage the knob.. but in the end it still scratched it.. dam that sucker was on there!

word of wisdom to live by... lefty loosey righty tighty...

Twist that bish off with ALLLLL your muscles. If it don't come off, just use a saw! I KEED!
But rubber band and a strong hand should work perfect.

haha, dont use a sawzall... you should break it loose at some point, just twist that pigger, if your hand is slipping use some sort of a rubber gripper over the knob

Let's see if I remember since I'd done it 4 years ago. You have to pry out the top sticker on the knob, then use a hex key to unscrew the bolt to get it off. It's not as simple as other cars where you just twist the knob off. I replaced mine with a Ralliart knob which is polyurathane, which doesn't get hot in summer, and not freezing cold in winter. Hope this helps.
