another beat-up wing reborn

so i was sick all weekend and going out of my mind with nothing to do. so i decided it was finally time to repair my wing. it took me about 8 hours from start to finish. i used DRFTKNGG's write up as guidance, https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...bon-wings.html. DRFTKNGG thanks for the great write up, i would have been lost without your trhead.
now i always find myself halfway into a project before i remember to break out the camera; that being said i didnt take any before pictures and i really wish i did.

heres the wing sanded down and prepped for paint.

http://www.paintworldinc.com/itemdet...ku=DUP.A-7480S
1 can got me 6 coats, if i did it again i would buy 2 cans and try to get a few more coats on there.

after 6 coats of clear, with 12 minutes in between coats and a 12 hour final drying time.

2000 grit wet sand

and finished product after a buff and a few coats of wax.

like i said before i wish i had some pictures of how bad it looked previous to this, but im sure most of you know how bad these wings get.
let me know what you think, thanks for looking.

steve

i could see the VG being alot harder to sand with all the curved surfaces.. but sure YOU could definitely do it.

yeah man, you can save that no problem.. thats close to what mine looked like and i thought there was no way it would look normal again. its crazy you can bring something like that back to life, all you have to do is sand all that beat up clear coat off.
you should get to it before it gets any worse and does permanent damage tho. pull the wing off, fill the holes temporarily with hot glue to keep the weather out , and start sanding.

Brsox i still think you can do it, not being able to use a block means you just have to be alot more careful to not burn through the carbon when your sanding
