Exclamation TOYO RA1's

Anyone has pics of their TOYO RA1 tires (with thread depth)...I just received mine but i think they sent

me shaved tires...They are brand new with stickers, but "barely" has any tread on

them.

They dont look like the meaty type thread in the catalog pics on most tire sites.

How can I tell if its actually shaved?

Your help is greatly appreciated

If I remember correctly, the RA-1 usage guide on the home page has the tread depths of the tires stock and shaved. I think it's something like 1/4" stock, 1/8" shaved. So all you would have to do is measure it.

Anybody have experience on the RA1s as daily drivers? Locally, they are about half the price of Advans.

just curious, where did you purchase them? Most places I seen, assumes you want unshaved and you have to pay a bit more to get them shaved.

You'll be able to tell if they're shaved because the tread blocks will have strange shave patterns on them.

I think they come new at 8/32" 4/32 if shaved. I usually get mine at 6/32, they seem to last a bit longer and at that depth I don't get the greasy hot feeling when they are new. Also there is no need to heat cycle the RA1 like most R compound tires. The compound doesn't react to heat cycling like a Hoosier or Yoko would.

On the RA-1 tire there are essentially two levels of tread. The first is the blocks that are visable all around the tire. The second level of wear is the grooves that run around the circumfrence of the tire down to the wear markers in the bottom of those grooves.
