Hmm. I just called the Tirerack and spoke with someone who told me that 205s are rated for 7.5 inch wide wheels max. I won't have any problems running 205s on OEM 8 inch wheels?

I know it's a bit of a bump, but I had my first experience with the advans in the snow last night. I knew what to expect from all the warnings, but I've driven in snow before and figured I'd be fine as long as I took it easy.

I went out with about 1" on the ground and I couldn't do more than 30 and using the brakes was out of the question. Only slid once though, that was the first time I tested the brakes for a red light. Let's just say I had to run the light (barely though as it had just turned red as I was sliding into my turn)

Anyways I did it b/c I had to see for myself what they were capable of/how bad they were. As long as you're not stupid, you can make it places if you have to, although I don't know if I'd want to be driving in a hilly area. The way winter's been for Jersey I think I'll do ok without all seasons this year.

I have almost bald blizzaks and on my little 2800lb rsx it has surprised me how much it slides, at least in this weather, Here in CT its like a HUGE snow cone outside, ice pellets making it feel like really coarse sand.

Im guessing that everyone removed that sticker that was on the drivers side door explaining that MMC reccomends that you get winter tires.

I have yokohama winter tires and they work pretty well in the snow, slush, whatever. AWD is great, but its not gonna save you all the time. You have to remember that these cars are stiff to begin with, and if you are driving with upgraded springs (the good ones ), it will make it even worse.

I almost hit some guy next to me just starting out of first.

No, it isn't. That could be all you need to put your car in a ditch.
