Bad shocks -> rest of suspension?

Hey guys, my stock shocks are starting to crap out on me. I noticed this really bad when I was changing lanes the other day - I was going 45ish, and accelerating pretty hard into the next lane. I could feel my car SHIFT from side to side as I made the lane change.

I'm pretty sure I shouldn't track the car until I get a replacement for them. I am thinking megan, stance, or the cheapo used MR Bilsteins. I just need to build up my funds a little bit before I do so.

My question is this: by running on bad shocks, will it cause more wear on the rest of my suspension? Should I be worried about the other parts of my suspension being stressed out too much due to my crappy shocks?

What you described is not the symptom of worn shocks but is the pedulum effect of rapid weight transfer due to aggressive steering inputs. Worn shocks will cause your car to continue to bounce as you drive over bumps. Some minor pendulum effect is to be expected on the stock suspension with soft springs and shocks.

Running on worn shocks will not cause any significant wear on the rest of your suspension, nothing to worry about, IMHO. But it isn't a bad idea to upgrade anyways

Go auto-x with the stock shocks 1st and find out what you don't like about them before you replace them with something better, IMHO.

Shocks control the bounce and springs control the ride height(and some handling issues) get 'em replaced b/c you need to anyway.
