New Product - S.W.I.F.T Sport Springs Spec-R

SWIFT Springs have just released for the Spec-R Sport Springs for the U.S Market!!!

Sport Springs SPEC-R
For motorsports minded individual with a passion in winning.

SWIFT made Sport Springs Spec-R is made for true track racing enthusiasts that wants to take their vehicle to the next level.
Sport Springs Spec-R is engineered with 2 main characteristics.

1) Redesign lowering ride height to maximize the suspension performance allowing the vehicle to fully absorb road condition for maximum traction.

2) Increase in spring rate to further enhance cornering speed through entry & exit. The increase in spring rate is based on the vehicle factory stock valving settings. Sport Springs Spec-R is increase to the optimal rate that the stock shocks can handle. Higher performance shocks are not required, but recommended.

The Spec R springs are wound with the same engineering as their sports springs. With the exception of stiffer rates and slight change in ride height; you can expect the same characteristics as their sports springs.

Applications: 03+ EVO GSR and MR specs

RS/GSR - Front Spring Rates: 3.2 - 4.8 kg/mm (179 - 269 lbs/inch), Rear Spring Rates: 3.7 - 5.7 kg/mm (207 - 319 lbs/inch)

RS/GSR Ride Height Drop: 1.4" Front and 0.8" Rear

MR - Front Spring Rates: 3.2 - 4.8 kg/mm (179 - 269 lbs/inch), Rear Spring Rates: 2.8 - 5.6 kg/mm (157 - 314 lbs/inch)

MR Ride Height Drop: 1.4" Front and 0.8" Rear

the spring rates on the Sport Mach and Spec-R springs are same, except the Spec-R springs are progressive coil setup

yea i can see its progressive but yet the stiffest setting is still no stiffer then the standard swift springs.... so i dont understand how these specR are more "performance oriented".

and also your giving conflicting info.... look at your post "The Spec R springs are wound with the same engineering as their sports springs. With the exception of stiffer rates and slight change in ride height; you can expect the same characteristics as their sports springs."

these specR are suppose to be slightly lower and slightly stiffer but they arent LOL.... is something off or am i just tired today?

I was about to post about these.....

But yeah, those aren't the spring rates....these are much stiffer then the regular Swifts.

157-358 lbs/in progressive front
196-380 lbs/in progressive rear

and the rear for MR's is 153-380 lbs/in

Drops are the same as regular Swifts

In my opinion, that's craaazy stiff and way stiffer then regular swifts, but it depends on the progression. I would say they are easily too stiff for the stock dampers, but I don't know.

On one hand, more progression would be good because otherwise they would obliterate the stock dampers. But then a lot of progression kinda sucks for handling, so I'm surprised at those rates. I'd stick with regular Swifts unless I was on Ohlins fixed perch dampers on something. Someone should try it on stock dampers though!

The spring tech in Swifts is definitely sweet.

yeah softer initial ride to a few clicks stiffer as it compresses... now GTWORX, are you saying they have the same drop? the swift says the drop is supposedly slightly lower.

The numbers I saw for drop were the same as the regular swifts.....I'm pretty sure.

Drop me a PM and I'll get back to you Monday with some options.

for your MR, SWIFT Spec-R race springs will perform better due to stiffer rates then their sports mach springs.

What do you plan on using your EVO for? if its mainly for daily driving, the Sport Mach is a better choice unless you are looking for a stiff ride. But for weekend track guys or track guys that wants to run sway and shocks inserts, Rspec springs are the answer to their setup.

What shock options do we have really? Would the Bilstein replacements be suitable for these?

Ohlins fixed perch would be AWESOME with these. Little expensive but sweet.

I think they'd be okay with stock struts, and pretty good with Bilstein HD's. But I wouldn't be able to tell you how long your stock struts would last or how painful the ride would be.
