These were designed to fit through the lower part of the grille, next to the intercooler on the evo 8.

The front bumper on the 9 is different. It’s very tight and a lot of hacking is required. So I decided to run them under the car.

i don't know if it'll work, but looks interesting.

You might want to use something other than that twist tie to hold the opening in place. A zip tie maybe?

Did you check the clearance lock to lock with the car down on that setup? It looks like you will have some major rubbing issues.

I like the ingenuity - but also concerned it may not work.

I've got a IX and worked this weekend on rerouting my cooling ducts. I need to get the end 'funnel' dealio setup somehow.

yeah I give you an 1 for creativity but I'm not sure thats gonna hold up on the road course.

the IX bumper has those nice two openings by the intercooler that would be perfect for brake ducts... xtnct made them work on his car with a little creativity. IMO that looks like the best solution.

I’m still on the stock suspensions. Other than ECU flash and brake pads/SS lines, everything else is stock. I also installed a sway bar recently. My next mod will be KWv3, next season.

I was thinking more about the rim rubbing on the hose when the wheels are turned. From the pics (it may just be the angle) it looks like the rim/tire may rub against the hose when the suspension goes to its normal position and the wheels are turned.

I am having the issue of rim rubbing. I installed as close as possible to the block/frame on the passengers side and same on the drivers side and the wheel rubs them. These are the 255's, I am thinking my 285's would destroy them. Anyone know the best way to run these....

Right now they are tucked into my front lip, which is ok for winter. I don't have a solution yet for next season. Ill probably cut 2in holes to the bumper. My FMIC cuts off where I had them before.

The IXs can still use those two holes by the IC - seen a few do it.

Did you order extra from Kyle - All I got was about one of those lines which is why I thought they needed to go ultra short route or something...Now, I have 2 cut lines which sucks

I am calling Kyle to buy some extra hose. Mine was also not 3" ID hose, seemed more like 2.5"

EDIT - I have a VIII not a IX, my dang username is misleading - I wish I could get it to change and keep all my feedback...

No pictures, but I've got ducts with 285s without any contact, but I am using a LOT more zip ties (the wide kind) to guide the hoses and when I installed them I checked clearances lock-to-lock with the suspension loaded (ramps) and at full droop. If you take your time doing it this way, you can see where the tubes need to go. My routing is pretty similar to Warrtalon's.

p.s. Standard ducting on an Evo is 2". Bigger is better, but routing a 3" hose would be really tough!
