Lightest Wheels in 17"

Yes, but everything is a compromise on a street driven car.. Just remember a bump to a curb, or even going off the track is usually enough to damage a wheel. When your racing, its the cost of doing business, but on the street, do you really want the random railroad track, pothole,or bump to the curb to put you out of commission?

The BBS RS-GTs I am getting (they are on the boat from Japan) are about 18 pounds in 18x8.5 inches. They are forged, two-piece wheels and VERY strong. I don't know if they make a 17" version. I bet the OZ Superleggeras are very strong, too. I had 17" SuperL's on my S2000 and they were great.

I've wasted a few wheels here in NY.. so I'm reluctant to use anything thats super light just because although it could be strong, their generally VERY expensive, and it can get bent, I'll find a way to bend it..
I forgot the actual formula for the unsprung weight translation, but the smaller the diameter, (17 as opposed to 18) and lighter the wheel, will improve accelleration.
I always said I'd only use my racing wheels for racing.. I have 2 complete sets of weld racing wheels for my Malibu.. all have some sort of damage from driving with them. And those were 15" rims meeting NY potholes.. hehe..

http://www.weldracing.com/Draglite.html These are the wheels I run on my race car.. 15" no way in hell they'd fit anything with brembos..
http://www.weldracing.com/DragliteXP.html These on the other hand look to be slightly heavier (not sure how much) and available in 17x8 w/ 4.5 17x8.5 with a 5.5" backspace and 4.5" bolt circle.. I think thats real close to the 114.3 with approx 30mm offset.. Not sure those wheels would look any good on an Evo though.. or clear the caliper.. I don't have anything in that size from another car to test fit..
