Personal I run the DC Ti Rear strut tower bar & the RS/Cusco rear trunk bar (I got the trunk bar cheap). I don't mind the GT Spec bar posted above, it may be semi "functional" & it provides the most amount of trunk space (if that matters to you).

There really isn't a "best" trunk brace. There are plenty of threads on EvoM about trunk braces. And I am pretty positive I see Smike post the same comment in every thread, haha. A lot of these trunk braces just add un-needed weight to the car. If you really want to stiffen the chassis, have a cage put in the car. The EM Racing trunk bar looks alright...Could a person that tracks their car almost every weekend install that setup & actually tell a difference, hard to say, but probably not...

They still don't seem to read/understand.
It's a point modification for racing...unless in the unlimited classes; points are better used for a lot more gains elsewhere.
If you want to look cool standing next to your car when surrounded by a bunch of stupid gals, sixteen year olds, and morons - great mod

I had the RS trunk bar on my IX, I figured Mitsu must have made them standard on the RS for one reason or another...

I rock a Cusco V-brace and RS trunk bar. In my case I'm justifying it by telling myself it'll help because the battery is mounted in the spare wheel well.
... nevermind that the braces were installed first, it's called subconsciously planning ahead...

Though, their is a way to prove its function or lack there of. Take out one bolt and mount a go-pro aimed at it and take it for a drive. You'll see if the hole moved relative to the bar with a couple hard corners.

The powers that be (or just most the regulars in this section) have agreed that its for noise attenuation since the trunk is bare. If it really added stiffness (which is a bold claim) it would be in the MR as well. Its completely at the end of the car in a nearly unloaded section.
