Ford Revo Knuckle and GM Hiper Strut

I've been following Ford's Revo Knuckle and GM's Hiper Strut development and use on their more premium cars.

GM's Hiper Strut

Ford's RevoKnuckle

Ford developed it as a solution for torque steer on their high power FWD's (Focus RS) I assume it's the same with GM, and they currently use it on the Buick LaCrosse.

Here's a link to an article explaining the details and advantages.

I'm just putting this out there to hopefully jog the imagination of someone with more resources than I have to maybe one day conjure up something for the Evo. The beauty of developing such a system is that the mounting points remain the same.

An interesting idea and I like the idea of decoupling steering motion from suspension movement.

I think I'd buy something with dual-A arms if I cared that much though.

I cant ever see this used on a racing application. With coilovers we just use a spherical joint in the upper mount so the strut twisting doesn't really matter. Packaging could be nicer since kingpin inclination can be reduced with the struts at larger angles.

But like Mr. 03 said, just dual A-arm it! Maybe Ill take my experience doing the 914s Lotus suspension and come up with something for the evo

This helps me visualize the Revo-Knuckle system better:

I would think upgrading the front diff would be better. Then again making a custom hub assembly does take time. Sometimes I wish that Sierra Sierra Enterprises would sell their hubs to the public.

Nemo has double-A arms. Front and rear.
