Achilles ATR Sport

Please don't flame me, as I am merely a messenger, but:

My friend knows that I am currently in the market for a new summer tire for the evo, specifically a 265 35 18.

He mentioned the brand achilles ATR Sport to me, which are apparently a fairly new company, but are quickly gaining popularity in the drifting world (and seemingly BMW world as well), for their great bang for the buck *performance* tire.

And at a price of $101 per tire, I will admit I was a bit shocked.

Granted Evos and drift cars come from completely different worlds, but could these tires possibly be a comparable daily driver/ light spirited driving tire?

Of course I am not comparing them to say a Conti DW, Starspec, Hankook v12, etc., but am simply curious to see on anyone's potential thoughts, opinions, or possible experience with these tires?

I never heard of them. Buy a set and let us know. BTW, if they are no good expect the tread to last for 80K.

I'm running those tires now in a 235 40 18. I think they handle really well. Tread is really good too. I've had mine on for 60k and still have 7/32 left.

I hear ya when it comes to buying on a budget...

I am on my second set of Primewell PZ 900 on my oem wheels/oem size. They are great for DD and the occasional spirited driving on and off freeways....lasted me just about 40K miles or so....first set cost me $99 per tire and this last set I got them on sale for $75 a tire!!

Purchased and installed at Wheel Works

Primewell PZ900

At only 400 treadwear how in the EFF do you have that many miles on them and still going...?!

I hated primewell tires, had them on my Prelude and they were just garbage, lol.

I might have to try these out too after this year...

Well that's more than likely what your gonna have. From reading more about these tires they seem to be in the league of Fuzion VRi,Primewell, and the like. They are cheap, tread lasts forever, but after the tire compound hardens through age, they will ride like crap.
