Yokohama ADVAN A046 Price Drop

So the price of the OE Yokohama ADVAN A046 dropped by half recently on Tire Rack.(Down to $752 for a set of 4)
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....n&autoModClar=Never had a chance to experience the OE tires since I bought my EVO 8 used 2 years ago. Always wanted to try these tires out just to experience this specially developed tire for the EVO and after hearing so many good things about them.

These tires are 4+ years old since they carry a production date of 2009.

Are they even worth considering given the age?

There a great summer tire and grip very well. I still have mine from when I bought my car new, I do have other rims of course they don't last that long. I would say of the 30000 miles I have on my car almost have are on the AO46's. I would buy these asap as that seems like a close out price.

Still a top contender in my book. I'd take advantage of the price while you can! Get it, advantage! Ha ha. Okay enough of that.

Thanks everybody for your input!

After doing some research, I guess that 4 year old new tires are still good and okay to use.

I'll end up either going with the A046 or Dunlop Direzza ZII's.

If I were in the market for a stock sized tire I would definitely pick up a set. I loved my stock advans. The sidewalls are brilliantly stiff and offered the best turn in. I wish they came in other sizes.

I picked up a used set here in MN. with about 9k on them... I'm SO glad I picked them up as I too wanted to experience what the cars response and feel is with the OEM tires... Great pick up for sure, highly recommended if you've never felt them.

I was lucky to get 10k out of the sets I had. But it was an awesome 10k miles except in the snow. Though in fairness I think the temp they even say on the tire is only like 40 something degrees.

I should have waited. The price has dropped again. Now $592.00. That's $148 per tire. Still, I got mine.
