WTF brake pad wear

WTF brake pad wear
so.. i just noticed this on my daily driving pads. i checked my race pads and they are the same. how is it possible that the pad is so far to the outside of the rotor? any time i've ever worn brakes, they have a lip on the rotor, not that pad.
weird.
any suggestions?
