Anyone running Hawk HIGH PERFORMANCE STREET 5.0 pads?
I was wondering if anyone is currently running the Hawk HIGH PERFORMANCE STREET 5.0 pads on their evo 8/9?
currently on ds2500's = my favorite pad for all around DD blasting.
If anyone is running these, please offer your insight, relative to any other pad you have run on your evo 8 or 9.
TIA

I really like my racing brake ET800's. Only mildly squeaky sometimes, and they do really well unless I'm slowing down from deep into triple digits, like 140+... Dusty as hell though.

They dust a lot & i am too lazy to wash my wheels/car as often as i should... other than that, the ds2500's are my first choice
not for me, never actually... on either of the 2 sets I have gone through.
I love the braking performance & feel of the ds2500's + how quiet they have been for me.

What is your main motivator to switch things up or are you just open to alternatives assuming there is something better?
Personally I have no experience with the new Hawk 5.0 pads but my friend's friend melted them after 5 laps with his WRX on Monday. They are obviously not a track oriented pad and I dont know how hard he was pushing the car but I figured they would have worked out better than that.
I've had good luck for the most part with my Girodisc S/S pads which are supposedly similar to the 2500's. But as for dusting, well, yeah they dust a lot, lol! However any performance oriented pad is going to dust a lot. If they aren't dusting then chances are the performance is lacking considerably.
I guess what I'm getting at is that the 2500's are known to be a great pad and while there are others out there chances are you'll end up in the exact same boat as before. So unfortunately I don't think you be able to have your cake and eat it too...

Thanks for your insight & your buddies experience.
yeah, just looking... Other people have said the same thing, "you cant have both", but i kind of look at it like camshafts for example.
oem units work fine, but when you want more performance, you go searching for other cams, either way, you'll have trade-off's.... just wondering if someone has nailed it on the head for something im looking for.

Update on the racing brake ET800's...I do not like them. The brake dust is very metallic and likes to stick to the wheels, I had one wheel that took me close to 30 minutes to get a lump of brake dust off of it. I now clean them weekly to prevent this (which is really only every 150 miles since I only drive the car on weekends). I will not be going with them again.
