i have had the Swift Spec-R's on my 05 MR on the orginal Bilsteins since 2009. A little stiff but very nice road handling. Pair them with 255/40/17 Bridgestones RE-71r's on the MR BBS's and it will be an eye opener !!!

Anyways, I have to say I am extremely impressed with the MR Bilsteins out of the box. Mitsubishi really nailed it with the stock Bilstein suspension. The handling is very very good, ride height is very performance oriented but still very usable on the street (or off) and relatively decent ride quality to boot.

However, I am scratching my head wondering if there is further advancement to be found in the aftermarket.

I've yet to drive an aftermarket suspension that as as well-sorted for the street as the stock Bilstein setup. As such, that's what I run on my IX SE with the addition of Whiteline R/F anti-swaybars. The smallest size, as to maintain the factory balance. The suspension has been on the car for 10 years and the anti-swaybars for 7. No desire to change a single thing. FWIW, I'm on my 5th set of tires and 4th set of pads in 45K miles. Good luck.
