MMCS display.. question.. help please

Ok so I got my JDM EVO X with the SSS and nav package. Not interested in the nav because in Trinidad you don't need one.

Anyway.. when i insert a CD, the list of songs is displayed and then it fades out and i can't use the touch screen.. some message in Japanese comes up and then a couple seconds, the display comes up..

the folder and change track options are still visible and so are the song that is playing on top of the display..

you can still see the tracks but its like it has been faded. almost like a screen saver.. is this normal and i am having issues since everything is in fricking japanese..

All the guys with the SSS, help would be appreciated.

I wonder if you can take one of the images from a USDM hard drive and copy it to your hard drive to get an english version (assuming you are capable of removing the hard drive and hooking it to a computer).

Typically it's ripping the CD to the hard drive...

Yes, the screen fades when the car is moving - it comes back bright if you stop.

When you insert a CD it copies the contents to the Music Server.

Connect an iPod to the connectors in the centre console for great Video and Audio results.

yep.. i kinda realise its a safety thing so you don't focus on touching the screen while driving.. when you stop...it comes back up! thanks rallyman... at least we are in the same boat!

That doesn’t happen on the US model, in fact you retain every setting/feature option wile driving except for the video playback.

It must be a saftey thing for Japan.....
