Aftermarket double din with rf

So I'm planning on getting an aftermarket double din non navi for my 14 gst with rf and I've been reading all the threads and I'm comfused. I plan on taking out the sub Because I don't really need it. What would I need to make it work properly? I also want to retain steering controls also.

Parts you will need.

1. Dash Kit - SCOSCHE MI3019B
2. Wiring Harness - AXXESS MITO 03
3. SWC Retention - PAC-AUDIO SWI-RC

Thats it!

You'll need a tech from axxess to come out and reprogram the MITO-03 on the spot for you, that's what I had done on my 2014 w/ RF

Hopefully axxess fixes the issue. How hard would it be to take the amp out all together and just run the radio without it?

i mean, technically it's fixable, it's just not convenient. The audio with my RF system and RF sub works fine after the guy came out to update the MITO - i have a pioneer AVIC-NEX6000

@Evox267 - Pulling the amp means that you would have to replace the radio, connect the harnesses that went to the amp, or run new speaker wire, and replace all speakers. you would then have to install an aftermarket amp to power the sub. a lot more work that just using an adapter harness

I keep reading everywhere that the adaptors are working real crappy with the 2014 rf system. I read somewhere mitsubishi used different wiring because they put in the touch screen which is causing problems.

I dont know about changed wiring, but all the MITO harnesses suck. Well, suck in comparison to other factory adaptor harness, like the ones for GM for example.

I have been through 4 MITO 02 harnesses in the wifes 07 Eclipse GT with rockford.

Harnesses 1 & 2 just stopped working one day, the third one wouldn't communicate with the CAN bus, and the 4th one worked great the first week, but now also wont communicate with the can bus.

At this point im done changing harnesses, just saving $$ for a full system replacement.

I have heard some success stories with the MITO pieces, and this is just MY experience with them.
