Upgraded Sound System in My Evo FE

This is the only visible part of the upgrades. Everything else is hidden behind stock grills or under the trunk floor or behind the stock head unit.

4 JL C5 6.5"s powered by a 400watt Kenwood 4-channel amp hidden behind the stock head unit

1 JL 10" sub powered by a 1000watt JL 'JX' amp

sound dampening in the door panels and 35% window tint

About $2250 not including window tint.

Did you utilize the stock bracket to keep the sub from moving around?

What did you use for stock radio integration?

And i assume at that price you had the install done at some shop? Where?

What model Kenwood amp was used?

I'm not sure what you mean by that first question. I didn't bother myself with the particulars. I told them basically what I wanted and let them deal with the minutiae. The invoice just says "Kenwood 400W 4-Chnl Radio Amp" part number KAC-M1804. It was done at Barracks, although since you don't live near me, I'm not sure why you'd even wanna know that.

I'm only curious because car audio is what I used to do for a living and is a passion of mine.

I was interested in the shop because there are some odd equipment choices in this system, and I don't understand the speaker/amp pairing, unless they were trying to hit a price point.

I can elaborate if you like, of course this is just my opinion.

I see what you mean.... (I too used to sell car audio )

That 4 ch amp is kinda' underpowered for those 6.5 speakers, but, hey, if the OP is pleased - it is all good!
