Too much knock?

Too much knock?
I was doing a 3rd gear pull and the knock sum value on my AP jumped all the way to 6 at about 4000 rpm and 265 load. I was datalogging but I backed off as soon as I saw it.
I have never had this happen before, If I see knock it is usually only 1-3. For datalogging purposes should I have continued the pull to redline? Or was I smart to back off?

do another few pulls and see if it repeats. If you typically get 1-3 counts, and got 6 counts on just one pull, its likely false knock, or just a blip that may not repeat itself..
