First Mil.Spec bolt-on HFC installed
First off, I want to say thanks to Erik for his great customer service. He knew I had a deadline and did everything he could to make that deadline for me. Apparently I've just installed the first Mil.Spec Evo X 100 cell HFC.
What to say? Mil.Spec has a reputation for making the best high flow cat. It's 3" all the way, stainless steel, mandrel bends, the fit was perfect, and the cat is definitely high flow since I can see through the cells. For those of you worried about smell, I couldn't detect any smell from the exhaust. As far as numbers go, I'm scheduled for a tune tomorrow at GST.

mustang dyno
yeah, i was hoping for more, but I guess this is a reasonable number for an MR on California 91 octane

maybe 'slightly' more raspy, but not noticeable unless you're really looking for it. The buschur exhaust does a good job of keeping things quiet. No droning on the highway. Sounds almost like stock when you're cruising.

I've been running the Mil.Spec 100-cell (custom cat pipe) for about 5-6 weeks and I'm happy with it. Butt dyno noticed a slight drop in power over the testpipe, but definitely one of the highest flowing cats you can find. It still smells, but is a big improvement over running cat-less and should get better as I work on my tune.
And a big for Erik's customer service.

I think we need to get a definition of "smells" here LOL
Does it filter like an OEM cat? No. But we use high-quality PGM coatings...your car should smell NOTHING like raw exhaust when running our cats
Just ask anyone that has to tune these cars in a cramped dyno room. You won't walk out of there with red, watering eyes like you will with a test pipe

I've been running the Mil.Spec for 6 months and didn't notice any difference in smell from the stock cat on 91oct. I do notice more of a smell on E85 but it smell doesn't bother me.
