Unhappy OEM Clutch is Slippin' Help

Recently, my clutch has started to slip and I was wondering how long do the stock clutch typically last for? I have about 18k on my car and pretty sure it's too soon for the clutch to go out. I never beat on the clutch that bad,but I have a habit of downshifting a lot could that be a possible reason. I've also autox twice. My car isn't heavily nodded performance wise but is this something Mitsubishi's warranty will cover or no.

Thanks.

dealerships will laugh at you if u even try to ask about them covering the clutch...its a wear and tear item like brake pads...

21,000mi and running strong! My old VIII had 40,000+ on stock clutch and went to the track a few times.

its all in how YOU drive the car. some people will get more than you, some may even get less. all in YOUR driving habits.

If you are still stock and aren't in the habit of abusing your clutch there is no reason that you should be having issues this early. Go talk to the service department warranty repair is about all that is keeping many dealerships open right now besides whats the worst they can tell you...no.

There is no way this will ever be covered and you shouldn't waste your time and the dealership's time by asking.

TJs98GT is 100% right.

If you had 2,000 miles on the clutch, they might warranty it, but 18,000? I don't think they will.

There is a member on here who had a seal leak oil into the clutch and the dealer replaced his clutch. They looked at the leak as a common problem.

That could happen and who know's, it might be the issue here, but a dealership won't tear down the car to find THAT issue for free. If you paid to have the clutch done at the dealership and then they discovered that, then it MIGHT be warranty, but you'd have to go in expecting full cost on having the clutch be replaced and maybe you'd get lucky.

Never hurts to try and get warranty to cover it. Worst they can say is no. I had some things covered under warranty at 43k miles on my heavily modded IX.

I guess its worth a shot and you're right the worst they can say is no. All I know is that I'm gonna spend the money to buy another stock clutch when I can just get an aftermarket that's probably stronger.

I just hit 39k miles I sure hope mine can last till atleat 60K miles before stepping out I just spent 1200 for new cams waterpump heads installed lol I cant afford for the clutch to slip out. sorry about being

OP-a stock clutch should last ALONG time as long as on close to stock power level and maybe a handful of launches. Their is a guy on here who got almost 200K out of his stock clutch so im not sure why yours is on the way out at 18.
