Hi-Flow Cat options

I need to replace my stock cat. Looking for ideas. Who is running a hi-flow cat? What kind? What do you think about it? Good/bad fit up?

If this has been discussed before, could you direct me to the thread. I searched but didn't find what I wanted to.

Thanks.

Have you consider getting a test pipe?

I just got my state inspection here on Nov 1, and to be honest I was worry that i was not going to pass since i have no cat nor resonator, the guy didnt even looked under the car he just ask what yrs it was and did the inspection. Im pretty sure you can get away with it if taken to a ghetto place.

Yeah. I can hear it rattling inside. The original owner beat the car pretty hard. The dealership wouldn't cover it under waranty due to the aftermarket exhaust and intake. I have a 3" cat-back, so I'm looking for a hi-flow cat to complement that.

Thanks, but I have a good mech that I respect a lot. I don't want to put him or me in a bad spot.

I am running an ETS high flow cat. Build quality is freaking amazing.

It's a 200 cell count, has the bend to avoid hitting the drive shaft, and has a j connection tube for the o2 sensor so you don't get a cel.

Highly recommend.

If I didn't get this one, I would have got a mil.spec.

I've got a MilSpec 100 cell and a test pipe. All the flanges on my TBE are v-band so switching between the two is a snap.

v-band FTW.

Do you notice any smell with the MilSpec 100? What about power difference? I have a TP now, but thinking about getting a HFC instead.

just state inspection or emission?

i'm not 100% sure but,
test pipe without any CEL should be fine for emission test.
But if tuner disable a o2 sensor, prob fail for emission.

I heard the 100 still smells some and the O2 bung is on the wrong side of the CAT. True or false? The 200 cell ETS sounds like a winner to me. I wonder if you could get them to use the 100 cell mil.spec....
