Akrapovic Slip On Exhaust - Anyone have this or can share experiences?
Hi all -
I was looking at the Akrapovic slip on exhaust and was wondering if anyone had any positive/negative things to say about it. I'm looking for a quiet daily drivable exhaust that gives a more refined sound then the stock set up and from what I've seen/heard the Akrapovic system was just about perfect.
The only problem is I've only ever seen videos of the full Evolution style exhaust set up and not just the slip on exhaust. It's my understanding the slip on would be street legal (basically just a muffler swap) but the Evolution system wouldn't be (from what I can tell it ditches the cat).
Anyone have any reviews/thoughts/experience with the Akrapovic slip on system? My main concern is the sound wouldn't be different enough to justify the cost. Is the slip on system my only option for remaining street legal or is there a Evolution set up which maintains the cat?
(I'm also talking with a few local shops about it but not many have experience with Akrapovic on Evos)

it isn't a cat back in the typical sense. I have the down pipe back on my X and it sounds awesome. Anyway, you can either get the down pipe back version or just the rear muffler which bolts onto the oem exhaust i believe. since the area where the cat is on the dp back exhaust has a completely different type of flange.

I have one and it looks and sounds great. It went on without issue. Other than it being expensive i see no down side to this exhaust. I compared it to the other titanium set ups and it welds and bends are much better.
