What Kind of Transmission Fluid Do You Use

Hmm about time to change my transmission fluid when I change out my clutch. Redline MT-85 75W85 GL-4 Gear Oil or Amsoil MTG 75W-90?

Isn't the Redline cocktail recommended?

Redline MT-85 75W85 GL-4 is closer to the stock 75W-80 and is what Redline actually recommends on their website. I hear a lot of people use the cocktail but I dunno if that's what I want to do.

My auto-x/track buddies and I always use the amsoil 75w-90 transmission fluid.

Segfault, no issues? How long have you run it? If you're autoxing with it and its good, then that's what I'll probably run. I usually end up running at least one event a month.

So I've been using it for about 2.5 years now in my X, and for a couple years when I owned a IX. My friends have been using it for 2-5+ years now. In general, we all do anywhere from 20-30+ auto-x events a year as well as 2-5 track days. We do change fluid before every track day though or every 10K miles.

Yup. 2 quarts Redline MTL + 1 quart Redline MT-90.

MT-85 was designed to Evo 8/9 and DSM transmission spec; you can safely use it in the X, but the viscosity isn't ideal IMO.

My car has 27k miles on the cocktail and I'm very happy with it. I changed out the factory fluid at 1k miles and have been using Redline ever since. I also used Redline in my DSM's, S2000, Evo IX, and my wife's WRX. I've always been very happy with it and never had a transmission failure of any sort while using it.
