Spark Plug Questions
So night before last was a really cold day, think it was about 20 degrees, and I hadn't started the car since the day before, and the car had about 3 inches of snow on it. I go to start it it, and it hesitates some, and idles a little slow, and I assume it's just the weather. Once I get on the road to where I have to give it a little gas to go up a hill, I notice it just doesn't feel right. Shortly after I get a SES light, and I pull into a gas station because its running so rough. I get out and the idle was very erratic. Checked all my lines and hoses, and everything was fine. I get the SES light pulled at autozone and it was P303(i think) and they said I had a misfire on cylinder 3 and it's most likely a bad plug. So Now I have 2 questions.
1. Why would a plug go bad or anything else happen even to make it run so bad after it was sitting, not even been driven for a day, when it ran fine when I parked it?
2. Upon entering the local auto store and getting a plug, after I pull the #3 plug, I notice the threads are different, I believe I checked a Bosch 4, and a AC rapidfire (i think that was what they were) and they didn't even look close to NGK that was in it, and they were out of the NGK and cant get them til the 15th. The NGK had a longer narrower end, while the others were shorter and fatter looking, does that even make any sense? 2 auto stores had the same plugs listed. I just need to know what plug i can use until i can order the ones i need online.
Sorry if I included too much. Thanks in advance.

From my own personal experience NONE of the auto store chains have the correct PN for plugs in their system. I think they must all use the same base program, because all 4 places I checked listed the Lancer DE plugs for every 4B11T listing.

I had the same problem with a oil filter from advanced.. i just don't want to have to wait til monday to buy a plug from the stealership only to have a new set arrive in a few days. i Know driving with a bad plug probably isn't very good, so i am trying to avoid it.

1.Spark plugs must spark properly to assure proper engine performance and reduce exhaust emission level.
Therefore, they should be replaced periodically with new ones.
Spark plug type
2.The new plugs should be checked for the proper gap.
Spark plug gap: 0.5 − 0.6 mm (0.020 − 0.023 inch)
3.Install the spark plugs and tighten to 18 ± 2 N⋅m (13 ± 1 ft-lb).
