Smells gasoline fume from inside....?
I recently did the E85 conversion (a few weeks ago), and now I am experiencing a very strange phenomenon with my evo from this afternoon.
When I came to my evo which was parked at the parking lot after my work, I started smelling gasoline fume. Since I used to carry E85 containers in my back seats before, I thought it was remaining smell from that, and ventilated the car by opening all the doors for about 10 minutes. However, after I started driving, the smell of fume came back again. It smelled just like I had E85 containers in my back seats with the caps not completely closed (even though I don't have any fuel container inside). The smell became stronger and stronger until I had to open all the windows! When I came home, I ventilated the vehicle completely again. The smell seemed to be gone. However, when I came back to my car a few hours later, I smelled the fume again from inside!
It seems like fuel is leaking to the inside of the vehicle whether it is running or being parked. Have you ever experienced this before? Any idea what the cause might be? It is really bothering since the smell is so strong and makes me dizzy enough during driving. I couldn't even start another log since I was worried about fuel leak to somewhere else.
Any advice would be appreciated.
