Drivetrain mechanisms and fluids questions

Hello. I have searched and have had little luck. I'll try to keep it short.

Transmission:
To change the fluid, basic drain and fill. Correct?

Transfer case:
To change the fluid, there is no bleeding necessary; only a basic drain n fill. Correct?
Oem fluid recommended.

The hard part (for me at least):
ACD: do all Evo Xs have ACD?
I went to puente hills mitsubishi to purchsse oem 90k maintenance fluids. I saw that there was a quart of the sp3 atf. He asked if I knew whether or not my car had ACD. I thought all Xs had that equipped. He asked for my Vin to check if my car had it equipped: says no.
I said okay. Went home and noticed I wasn't charged for atf (didn't have it).
Called South Coast mitsu, asked for my Vin, said id need the atf for the rear diff.
I tried to find threads on how to do the fluid change on the rear diff.
I know there are two different fluids that need to be changed.
Is one of those fluids the AYC or ACD that is changed through the diff?
Does the AYC in the rear diff take the atf sp3?
I only got three qt for the tranny, 1 qt lsd for tcase and 1qt lsd for diff.

Disclaimer:
Ive searched and if you arent happy with what I came up with, please keep it out. I don't need links with let me Google that for ya. This is a forum, if ya can help, please do so.

Thanks in advance

Transmission: Simple drain & fill; capacity is around 2.8 quarts. I recommend Redline MT-85 fluid.

Transfer case: Simple drain & fill; capacity is around 1 quart. I recommend OEM Mitsu Diaqueen 90W LSD gear oil.

Rear differential: Simple drain & fill x 2. Capacity is a little less than a quart of Diaqueen 90W LSD and about 2/3 quart of Diamond ATF SP3

All Evo X models have S-AWC (ACD + AYC). This system does not need regularly scheduled service so there is nothing to do or bleed during normal maintenance and fluid changes.

The rear differential does use two different fluids (see my comment above). On the underside of the pumpkin you'll see two hex drains. There is one fill bolt on the front of the case (Diaqueen 90W LSD gear oil) and one fill bolt on the backside (Diamond ATF SP3).

Let me know if I missed something or if you have more questions.

Okay, you've cleared pretty much everything. Unsurprisingly, the 90k maintenance (Driveline fluid change) is not worth the dealer's 600+ charge since it's normal drain and fill for the whole thing. What gives!

I've seen your postings around the forums about this same issue (rear diff fluids being changed):

This is what I thought to be correct, so can you tell me why on earth the mitsu dealer asked for my vin to check if my car came with ACD or not? and then my vin, somehow, showed that my car does not have ACD.

On top of that, why did they not give me the atf sp3?

That is necessary for the rear diff regardless of the ACD correct?

He had me second guessing whether or not some evos had the acd. Doesn't make much sense but he was so sure. . I know this could probably be answered by a simple "theyre not experts" but that's kind of a big error by my judgement. . .

thanks again, man

It makes no sense to ask if your Evo X has ACD, because all Evo Xs have it. However, outside of North America, there is the Evo X RS, which doesn't have AYC. Maybe that's what they were asking about.

Sounds like the guy at your dealership doesn't have a clue about Evos. The info I posted above is good for all USDM Evo X models.

Yeah Iwent back to pick up the atf fluid. I asked the parts clerk (same guy who told me my car didn't have it) how to check if the car has acd. He obv said to check if it had the buttons to drive on gravel or snow yaddayadda. I just asked if there were evos that don't have that (just to check credentials) and he said yes, he was sure.
So in short, I'm not takin much more advice from that dealer.

Changed all driveline fluids with no problems.

Thanks for all the help krack.
