If you are looking at 1,000hp you will need to sleeve the block at minimum.

I'll guess you want 1,000hp but in reality you aren't going to have 1,000hp.

If you are shooting for 550+ you will want to sleeve the block, at minimum.

I am researching and wanting to know if any of you have built a 4b11t. I have a friend that has a whole engine that I am getting his engine from and it has a little bit of marks in the cylinder from a piston ring scratching it. So my questions are as follows.

As I understand that the OEM bore and stroke is 86mm by 86 mm, what is the biggest bore you can give these engines?

If I plan on just going to 88mm by 88mm, what would be my liter size?

What do you think is the best rods to use in a 1000hp build?

If I plan on building the bottom in so much what upgrades would I need on the top in?

I have a lot of questions but let see what answers I get back on this first.

Jason

My block had minor scratches and 0.020 over bore cleaned it up nicely. Just get a 86.5mm pistons or 87mm and give it to the engine builder so they can bore in accordance to the piston they have. I did 86.5mm manely pistons and, manely rods and UCL rod bearings. Car has done 1000 hard miles now and running great so far.

I would be happy with 500+, I just want to have the insurance of a very strong engine. I am on a budget so it will not be built in a month but I just want to do a lot of research to make sure I know what I talking about.

How much did it cost you altogether?

Pistons, rods and rod bearings, gaskets kit Parts were around 3k including accessories such as the 3 gauge pod, 2 AEM gauges and Snow performance stage 2 meth kit. Labor and machining was around 2k. Double checking the tune and adding another map for Meth as well as dyno time another 1500 including Cobb and VP M1 5 gallons.

So total was around $6500, but without all the accessories you can do it for $4600.
