Cant reverse without burning clutch?

Cant reverse without burning clutch?
I have an Exedy stage 1 clutch, and I can't for the life of me reverse the car without burning the clutch. The smell is very prominent and the pedal feels like metal on metal grinding. Yet I have no problem going through the gears in the forward direction. Has anybody else noticed this?

. It happens if you give any throttle at all in reverse. So far just using my idle speed to drive reverse seems to be the best method lol
It's interesting though, unless I'm missing something, the gear ratios for first and reverse are very close, so it's not like torque in reverse is greater. Who the h$ll knows
