Rain and hood vents?!
So two days ago here in san diego its been hot as hell! then all of sudden it starts to pour! and since i have an CAI is it going to be a problem, in the long run, with water getting into the engine? i know it has to pass through the turbo, all the way around the cooler and back to the manifold. if it doesnt get all the way to the intake manifold, can the water just sit or cause problem to the turbine?

I have to think that Mitsubishi engineers put some kind of all weather test to the car, but I'm sure some water will splash on the precious mivec cover.
I actually hope it rains enough to try out the all wheel drive in the wet without having to wait for next winter.

wow its really coming down..down here lol. anyways i duct tape(hard core) the right vents just in case it pours tomorrow. call me paranoid, last thing i want is a seize(sp?) engine. i know i wont be driving into any puddles but sounds like its damn close.

not the way I would handle it. duck tape, really.
However, hard it is raining, its nowhere near enough water to be sucked up to hydrolock your engine or ruin the turbo. It will be different though if you drive through an area of water deep enough to submerse your air intake. As stated previously above.
