How high is the stock rev limiter?
Hey guys,
Well this may a dumb question but, how high is the stock rev limiter at? I ask because i was curious on how high it can go and it went up to ~7500 in first gear and in neutral. I know redline on the guage starts at 7000, but can it over rev that much?? I just bought the car pre-owned at the dealer and now wondering if its bone stock or is it already flashed by someone else? I plan to go to the dealer tomorrow to get the latest flash and im thinkin if i got a custom reflash already then screw it. Reason why i wanted the latest reflash from is cause i was experiencing stuttering in high rpm's, weird idle etc and figured id bring it in. But tonight i floored it and it seems fine, no stutterings and not to much weird idle (itll only bounce slightly once in awhile).. any clue?
Thanks!
Edit: If you got this far, sorry for the long read! Im a noob

If your still on the stock turbo it is absolutely pointless to rev that high bc power falls off way before then. I would shift at 6,800rpms on the stock turbo. It is ok to rev to 7,500 rpms on the stock cams. If you change the cams I would do head studs and valve springs to rev that high.
