Parking Ticket While Vehicle Was Occupied??

Ok so I know this has nothing to do about the car but I can't find any info on the web and i'm pretty desperate. I recently got a parking ticket, it says "no driver, no parking receipt displayed on the dash", however my gf was sleeping in the front passenger seat at the time. Can I get this ticket waived since the vehicle was occupied? This happened in NYC btw...

Sleeping in a car doesn't make an otherwise illegally parked vehicle legal. Pay the ticket and move on...parking tickets aren't worth the time it takes to fight them.

You are gonna spend more money trying to fight it then the ticket is to be honest. Granted, the nice thing to do would've been for the cop to wake up your girlfriend and let her know... but not everyone is decent.

its a no points ticket. Just pay it. It will cost you more to fight it then to pay it.
If its a points ticket like speeding. I always go in. But in this situation, not worth it.

In many states, the definition of "driver" is a person in the driver's seat and the keys are in the ignition. In this case, it works against you, because your GF is not a driver. But it's a good rule to know. For example, imagine that you roll out of a bar at 2 am and you're too drunk to drive. DO NOT sit in the driver's seat, listening to the radio, because that is drunk driving in many states. Sit in the passenger seat, instead.

Fighting a parking ticket is easy and free. First step is to request an appeal form or administrative review form.
Fill it out hope for the best.
If it does not get dismissed it usually goes to a 2nd appeal option.
This is usually fill out a form and meet in person.
If it does not get dismissed you have the 3rd appeal option which is court. At this time, unless you have free time, just pay it.

You parked illegal for an extended period of time. Don't give us Evo owners a bad name and just pay it

This doesn't need to go any further. Pay the parking ticket and move on.
