So, fountain tire claims that one of the new wheels I had brought them to mount tires onto has a preexisting bend/crack.
The wife picked them up yesterday as I was at work and she was told that there's a scratch on the rim. When I got home and looked it's actually a bend and crack.
They claim they received the wheel in that condition, but I'm convinced they dropped up. Talked to the 'manager' today, says it wasn't him. Deny, deny. I'm calling their head office tomorrow.
Also gonna call 1010tires tomorrow, and talk to them. I looked at the shipping boxes, none of them have any damage on them, and I doubt the factory would ship it like this.
If it was really like this when they go em from me, why would they even mount tires on a cracked rim? Seems like a huge safety hazard to me.

The crack doesn't look all the way through, fortunately, which probably doesn't make the situation feel too much better. I think, unless the wheel boxes were sealed when delivered, this might be a hard argument to win. It does look like the wheel was dropped though, so I think you are right to argue it hard. You might request they pay for the wheel to be fixed, if they don't maybe split it with them. A frustrating situation, sorry about that.

That's the thing, we took the wheels out-of the boxes so that both the wheels and tires would fit in the car.
However, there was still the protective cover that's on the rims from the manufacturer, as well as the plastic they were wrapped in. There's no way that dropping them in that way would leave a blue paint mark on the wheel.
I'm hoping that they'll agree to have it fixed. If not I guess I have no choice but pay out of pocket. I'm not happy.
