Bought the wrong plugs, are these safe to run?
Guys I could use some help.
I just hit 40K miles and thought it was time to change plugs. Looked around and every one said buy the NGK ILKR8E6 (1422), so I did.
Turns out those threads must have been dated. I have a 2011 and the plugs I pulled out are the DILKR8B6.
I have not turned the engine over, and I have the old plugs and they seem to be in decent shape if I had to put them back in.
I've heard mixed reviews on whether new plugs effect the tune.
Am I safe to run the car? or should I put the old ones in and wait to get the exact replacements?
Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Does it matter that I'm modded and tuned?
I heard the ceramic height difference effects timing. I know this is the equivalent of pulling timing which should be safer, but still thought I would mention it.

were at in Colorado? you could always get it checked to be safe.. but either way probably best to stick with one or the other. ill probably just stay with the ilks since there a bit cheaper and easier to get.

I'm in Wheat Ridge.
I've been to TOBZ before and he did a fine job on my parts install. Tune was also good (a few (2-3) counts of knock in some places) but I think he could have spent a little more time on it, but the shop is always so busy it takes forever to get an appointment.
Last tune was from Golden before he stopped tuning Evos, so I hate to bother him (he deserves a break).
Is there some where/one else you would recommend checking it out?
