Get an Alignment or buy New Tires?
I have a dilemma here.
The inside of my front passenger tire is bald, which has happened to a lot of you on here. Now I know the reason for that is because I need to do an alignment.
I have a new set of rims with tires already mounted on, but I don't want to put the rims on yet because Im trying to milk out as much tread as I can on the stock tires before I switch rims.
Here is my problem. Winter is coming soon and I want to get all weather for the stock rims for when I go to the snow. The tires on my new rims are 275/35 Toyo R888 so they OBVIOUSLY cant go into the snow. Should I spend the money and do an alignment on the stock rims right now and just go to the snow to get as much use as I can out of the stock tires?
Or should I just buy new tires for the stock rims right now and then take them off after a few months and put on my new rims?
Im scared if I don't do an alignment right now the tire is gonna get so bald that the metal part starts to show. BUT if I do an alignment I MIGHT AS WELL get new tires...because I would have do to an alignment again once I do.
If I can use my stock advans up that would be ideal...that way I don't have to spend the money on new tires right now when I already have R888s....

Get new set of tires, align them properly, and stay on top of your tire rotations.
Pushing your luck with a bald tire? Come on man, you know that is just playing with fire. Tire gives - takes out your fender with it or bangs up your door. Worth it?
Not by a long shot. Just bite the bullet and take care of your car.

Just seen la video of a guy that almost wrecked his car because he had a semi bald tire on the highway. He wasn't doing anything crazy either. If I find it I'll post it here.

Can't stress the importance of tires / alignment / rotation diligence on all AWD cars (especially) these days. It seems like the slightest bit of misalignment will chew up tires quicker than anything else.

Stock advans in the snow is a bad idea. Nvrmind severely worn ones..
