Noob Questions

Two noob questions for you guys (and gals)...

1) Is the Tarmac light on the info display always supposed to flash? Seems like sometimes it's on, sometimes it's off, most of the time it's flashing.

2) The attached pic is of a connector behind the radio. Is this a factory connector or something put in by the previous owner?

blinking tarmac light is your acd pump going bad. Mitsubishi covers the pump under warranty.

As for the connector - need more info:

Which stereo?
Do you have a back-up camera?

Blinking Tarmac doesn't necessarily mean a failing pump. Check the fluid level in your trunk on the right hand side. If its low or empty it'll blink.

Factory non-Fosgate but an aftermarket one was installed and removed before I got the car. Factory replacement does not work.

Thanks, will check it out. This weekend is maintenance weekend.

Check that sooner rather than later. Running things without fluids is a bad idea

Haha, yeah wasn't clear on that. All the fluids will be changed this weekend but I'll check that in the morning.

Just wanted to say thanks. Reservoir was low. After some extra fluid light is solid now.

No problem! Keep an eye on the level. Did you have any work done to the car recently? Clutch replacement or anything like that?

Well...that's kind of a story.

Short version is I bought it Saturday from a dealer that sells repos for banks and it was a repo. A new shortblock from Mitsu was installed by them, so yeah, there's been some clutch work.

as for the connector...

A stock non-RF radio doesn't have that and it does not look a standard Mitsu connector.

Also, I can't imagine (other than perhaps an aftermarket b/u camera) that might use a connector like that...

I would recommend continuing to follow the wire to where it leads..

I'm not sure what the connectors purpose is (GPS antenna perhaps?), but its definitely factory wiring. You can see it here on mine.

^that looks like a upgraded radio (w/nav) that needs the connector.
Is it possible the PO took out a Nav radio, installed the aftermarket radio and installed a non-nav (basic) radio?
